My Beginning
Hello, Everyone! I'm Gerald Agbayani from Furao, Gamu, Isabela.
I entered the world on a quiet evening, June 26, 2006.
My story didn't begin with me. My mom and dad met in my dad's town because my mom's sister
got married there. That's how they were introduced. After that, my dad started courting my mom.
He used to travel 2 hours all the way from Manaoag to Furao just to see her — two hours, just
to court her again. That's how serious he was. And that's also when my grandparents found out
about them. Now here I am, proof that all that effort was worth it.
Early Childhood
I grew up in our small home in Furao, Gamu, Isabela, surrounded by rice fields and loud
roosters every morning. My childhood was simple but full of laughter. My favorite toys were
truck toys and a ball that was already flat but still usable. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters,
and we spent our days playing tumbang preso and patintero with our neighbors. Our neighbors
were like family too; their kids became my first friends. I learned how to share, fight, and
make up all before I even started school.
Elementary School
Since my father is from Manaoag, I studied at Manaoag Elementary School
from Grade 1 to Grade 6. My favorite teacher was Ma'am Haidelyn because she was patient
and always believed I could do better. My favorite subjects were Math, Science, and Filipino
because I loved solving problems, learning about nature, and telling stories.
One of my most memorable events was Buwan ng Wika, where my group won
first place. That's where I realized I loved working with classmates and being part of a
team.
(These school experiences shaped the teamwork and perseverance I carry with me today.)
High School Journey
I continued high school at Gappal National High School. That's where I met
friends I still talk to today — Renz and Joshua. I joined clubs like the
Science Club and MAPEH Club, and it helped me become more
confident speaking in front of people.
High school wasn't easy, but those years taught me that hard work really pays off.
Teenage Experiences
As a teenager, I discovered my hobbies: playing basketball, watching anime, playing mobile
games, and playing chess. I was the quiet but curious type, always asking questions and trying
new things.
One emotional moment I'll never forget was when my Lola passed away. After that, I couldn't
focus on my studies. That experience taught me that grief isn't the end — it's part of growing
up. Being a teen made me realize I'm responsible for my own choices, and I started dreaming
bigger for myself.
College Life
Now I'm taking up BS Information Technology. I chose this course because it's
my passion. College life is different — new friends, harder subjects, and more independence.
So far, my best experience has been making new barkada in class, joining activities, and
learning something I thought was impossible.
My goal for the future is clear: graduate, help my family, and get a stable job.
I'm still writing my story, and I'm excited for what comes next.
